As the colder weather starts to take hold, parts of County Durham may see a few light snow showers today as the colder air coming from the east meets the milder air coming from the west. It's quite hard to pinpoint where these snow showers will fall. The most likely areas will be on the north east coast and the far west of the county. Temperatures will struggle to get above 4C but with a slight easterly breeze it will feel more like 1-2C. As we move into this evening and tonight, again there is a small risk of a few wintry showers and temperatures could dip below freezing. Road surfaces could become a bit tricky, so as always take care when driving.
